Do we need mahjong experience to book?

No. Prior experience is not required for Mahjong 101 (this applies to both small and large group bookings.

 

Prior experience is required for Private 1-on-1 Mahjong Coaching.

What is included in Mahjong 101?

Each session includes hands-on instruction using National Mah Jongg League rules, active gameplay, and real-time support as you learn and practice at the table.

Your mahjong instructor will provide all necessary materials to learn and play during your session. This includes tile sets, racks and pushers, mats, National Mah Jongg League cards, and more. 

Do we need to have mahjong tiles, mats, and other materials to book?

No, your mahjong instructor will provide all necessary materials to learn and play during your session. This includes tile sets, racks and pushers, mats, National Mah Jongg League cards, and more. 

What types of groups do you work with?

Large group bookings are designed for clubs, private communities, retail storefronts, hosted events, and other businesses with 13 or more participants. 

How is pricing structured for large groups?

Large group pricing is customized based on group size, duration, location, and unique event needs.

 

The number of instructors needed for your event is calculated based on the estimated number of attendees. These instructors are included in your quote.

Do you travel for bookings?

Yes. I am based in Bluffton, SC and can service Bluffton, Beaufort, Hilton Head, Savannah. Service in Charleston is subject to availability.

What style of mahjong do you teach?

I teach American Mahjong using standardized National Mah Jongg League rules. 

Please note American Mahjong features a unique set of rules and game play, different from Chinese, Hong Kong, Sichuan, Taiwanese, Japanese, and Korean variations.
