Standard American Mahjong is often played as a 4 player game, but it doesn't have to be. Game nights can be enjoyed with parties of one, two, three, five, or even six players using a mix of formal and house-rule adaptations. In this experience, I will show you how to set up and play American Mahjong with different player counts. We will walk through how each format works and which rules make the most sense for your friend group. I will also introduce helpful tools that make these formats smoother and more fun, such as alternative cards, bettors, and single-player practice boards. This is structured as a guided open-play session rather than a traditional lesson. After demonstrating each variation and helping you get started, you are free to continue playing at your own pace while I remain available to answer questions, troubleshoot rules, and support gameplay as needed.
